13.138. 21st Annual TURKEY TROT

November 27, 2013

2013 will mark the 2nd year partnering with the City of Grand Rapids, allowing the participants to once again enjoy a scenic route starting at the Van Andel Arena that showcased the beauty of our city. The purpose of this event is to promote community fitness, physical activity, and health and wellness of the Greater Grand Rapids Area. A healthy community is a vibrant community. This is one of several GRPS activities that will serve to have a positive impact on current unfavorable health and wellness statistics throughout Kent County.
All Proceeds go to support athletic programs within the school district for their continued existence and to offset the “pay-to-play” concept for interscholastic student athletes. Proceeds from this race continue to allow the district to offer interscholastic athletics to kindergarten through twelfth graders. Over 4,000 student athletes participate ever year at no cost to the student or family. 2012 proved to be the biggest race year yet, with over 2,000 participants total from over 28 states.

Date: Thanksgiving Day Morning, Thursday November 28, 2013
Where: Van Andel Arena, 130 Fulton St West, Grand Rapids. MI 49503
Who: All Runners/Walkers Volunteers
Time: Main Race – 8am; Mini Trot begins at approximately 8:40am
