13.112. Muskegon Bike Time

July 14, 2013

Muskegon Bike Time is returning for a seventh year to the streets of downtown Muskegon, Michigan July 19-21, 2013. Muskegon Bike Time is America’s fastest growing motorcycle event, full of fun, food, music, and motorcycles. Each year Western Avenue, in downtown Muskegon, is converted into a 10-block long “Steel Horse Alley” where bikers can show off their rides. The downtown area is being transformed with the new Farmers Market which I believe wont be an huge inconvenience for Bike Time this year but will be a huge benefit for next year. Don’t miss all of the fun, including musical entertainment by national artists, & blessing of the bikes! Well I can ramble on with pictures and what else to do in the area so I will leave it for Bike Time to tell you whats going on with the following press release. For a ton on more information on Bike Time visit:

The “Kick Start Concert” was a huge hit in 2012 and will rock the start again for 2013 with the hottest littlest band in the world – made up of little people that emulate the rock band KISS. MINI KISS brings a high energy rock show to the stage with all the KISS hits and other big tunes from the 80’s. They dress in the full gear and makeup for the extraordinary MINI KISS experience. In 2010 MINI KISS was in the Dr. Pepper / KISS Super Bowl Sunday commercial that was a fan favorite and aired all year. MINI KISS has also been featured on the A&E Network TV show Gene Simmons Family Jewels, TBS show Lopez Tonight, and HBO Live Sessions among many others. The Kick Start Concert will be staged at the entertainment tent known as “Twisted Lizard” located at 6th Street and Western Avenue which is re-named “Steel Horse Alley” for Muskegon Bike Time. The bonus evening of entertainment begins at 6:00pm with music from regional bands until the MINI KISS concert begins at 9:00pm. Official hours end on Thursday at midnight.

Over 60,000 motorcycle enthusiasts will come to Muskegon for this annual weekend celebration. Hours are: 12:00 noon to midnight on Friday, July 19; 9:00am to midnight on Saturday, July 20; and 9:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday, July 21, 2013. Spectators love the festival atmosphere of Muskegon Bike Time with thousands of bikes to see and be seen riding, dozens of vendor booths, along with non-stop entertainment, delicious food and drink. Ten blocks of Western and Clay Avenues are closed to non-motorcycle traffic and parking for the weekend as “Steel Horse Alley” comes to life.

Anchoring the end of Steel Horse Alley on the grounds surrounding Hot Rod Harley-Davidson is a concert area named “Steel Horse Station” where rock shows will be staged on Friday and Saturday nights of the Bike Time weekend. On Friday night at a show time to be announced, Steel Horse Station will star Fran Cosmo, former lead singer of Boston. Cosmo performed on Boston tours from 1994 through 2004 and is currently at work on a solo album. In 1994, he was lead vocalist on the certified-platinum selling album “Walk On” for Boston. That album peaked at #7 on the Billboard chart and produced three hit singles including “I Need Your Love”. At Muskegon Bike Time Fran Cosmo will perform all the classic rock favorites from Boston albums that have sold more than 31 million copies worldwide including “More Than A Feeling”, “Peace of Mind”, “Rock and Roll Band”, and many more.

Saturday night’s concert at Steel Horse Station at Hot Rod Harley-Davidson will be headlined by Steve Augeri, former lead singer of Journey. Augeri performed as lead vocalist for Journey from 1998 to 2006. He recorded three albums during a successful eight-year tenure that brought the world’s most accomplished melodic rock group back to the stage for multiple world tours before millions of fans. At present, Augeri is set to release his long-awaited first solo album to be followed closely by a world tour that will showcase material from his career and feature a talented new group of musicians. Expect Steve to thrill the Muskegon Bike Time crowd with new material and Journey favorites like “Don’t Stop Believin’”, “Anyway You Want It”, and “Wheel In the Sky”.
