13.108. Grand Haven Splash Pad

July 8, 2013

Grand Haven Splash PadWith a cooler summer, cooler lake temps and the occasional hot weekends the Grand Haven Splash Pad, in its second year of operation, its popularity and gratitude from parents is more than expected. My daughter loves to go to the beach but we have really only had the chance to play in the sand and maybe stick our feet in the water. But after a long hot 4th of July weekend with long walks to the beach, big crowds, and very hard time to find beach parking my little one was very happy to play in the “Waterfall” as she calls it. We were easily able to find a close parking spot near Chinook Pier, play in the splash pad, and get a ice cream cone all under a hour or so. As a parent you know that is awesome when getting a quick activity in before a nap.

If you are in the Grand Haven area the splash pad is la a great place to jump in for a quick kids activity or to cool yourself off. The plash pad is free but odds are the sigh of all the ice cream and treats in the area you will spend some money. There are picnic tables in the area and plenty of lawn space for a picnic and make a day of it. For more information visit:
