13.78. Critter Barn
I have been hearing about the Critter Barn for about 8 months now but just haven’t had the time to get to the Critter Barn. Yesterday was our first visit and suspect one of many in the future. The Critter Barn is a Farm, whose mission is to educate! There are friendly volunteers all over the place working on the care of the animals who were eager to answer questions. They have steers, cows, lams, ram, chickens, roosters, bunnies, cats, pigs, ducks, turkeys, horse, and I am sure I am forgetting a few.
We were greeted at the entrance by a giant turkey that did give us a tour throughout the day. We wandered the barns and grounds and saw the animals. My daughters favorite was petting the bunnies. The Bunnies and the kitten corral were her favorites.
There website does a much better review of what to do and how to plan your day. You can also see when field trips are scheduled if you want to avoid large crowds. For more information visit: http://www.critterbarn.org
The Critter Barn is free, but please make a donation of some kind. They have a container at the entrance, because really a day like this with your family is priceless.
