13.3. Carr-Fles Planetarium
Carr-Fles Planetarium is West Michigan’s only free planetarium located in Room 135 on the main floor of the college’s campus, 221 S. Quarterline Road. The Muskegon Chronicle is reporting:
The Carr-Fles Planetarium at Muskegon Community College will present “Stars: The Powerhouses of the Universe,” starting at 7 p.m. on Jan. 8.The 35-minute presentation shows how stars are formed and their role in the universe. The film, narrated by actor Mark Hamill, also explores mankind’s relationship with the night sky throughout history. After the screening, the planetarium will give a brief tour of the night sky.
Thanks to the generosity of the Reach for the Stars campaign donors supporting Muskegon Community College, you can now experience the all-new Carr-Fles Planetarium, featuring, a state-of-the-art digital projection, sound and lighting systems, they have all-new library of shows, and with modern theater seating & domed ceiling.
Free and open to the public, Carr-Fles Planetarium showtimes are 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, September through May.
