Complex math equation for FUN is not so complex when you have the following variables: Saturday Night + NCAA MB-Ball Tournament + St. Patricks Day = A ton of fun and endless possibilities. So what to do besides drink green beer and stare at the TV watching basketball? Here is a few ideas:

12.42. St. Patrick`s Day Party (Note: This event is not St Patricks Day but none the less, sounds like fun.)

March 9-10, 2012 The Michigan Irish Music Festival is presenting its annual St. Patrick’s Day Party at the Fricano Event Center in downtown Muskegon! The party will feature live music both nights with The Kreellers, and West Michigan’s own Gasta. The St. Patrick’s Party will feature McGovern’s Corned Beef and Irish fare, Fricano’s pizza, Magners Irish Cider and Budweiser products, and a full bar. In addition, Irish dancers will perform and a silent auction will be held each night. Doors open at 5:30 pm both nights with music starting at 6 pm. Tickets are $6 for Friday or Saturday, or only $10 for a 2-day pass. 12.43.  Muskegon St. Patrick’s Day Parade

March 17 at 11 am: Inaugural Muskegon St. Patrick’s Day Parade! Stepping off at 4th and Clay then marching North along Clay to Jefferson. Sponsored by Hennessy’s Irish Pub & Restaurant, the Greater Muskegon Jaycees, and the Muskegon CVB. Cost to march in the parade or sponsor a float is a non-perishable food donation benefiting Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry. Entry deadline is March 10. For more information visit:

12.44. Hennessy’s Irish Pub & Restaurant

Hennessy’s Irish Pub & Restaurant located at 885 Jefferson Street in Muskegon has great Irish food, American food too. 12.45. All Things Green and Lucky Hike

12.46. Michigan Irish Music Festival presents: SLIDE

The Michigan Irish Music Festival will present An Evening with SLIDE at the Frauenthal Theater for the Performing Arts. A traditional band who hails from Ireland, SLIDE has been a Michigan Irish Music Festival crowd favorite for the past several years. The concert is sponsored by Radiology Muskegon & The Community Foundation for Muskegon County. Tickets for the concert are $15 in advance and $20 beginning March 12th. 12.47.Grand Rapids St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The Ancient Order of Hibernians along with Guinness will be presenting this year’s Grand Rapids St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The parade will be on March 17th starting at 11:00am; in downtown Grand Rapids starting at Michigan going down Ottawa, turning left onto Fountain, right on Division, and left onto Library ending at Veteran’s Park.

12.48. Fenian’s Irish Pub’s 25th Annual Wearin’ of the Green Parade

12:00 PM. Downtown Holland goes green during the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade! The parade that celebrates all things Irish begins outside the Civic Center at noon and travels up Eighth street to College Avenue. For more information visit:

12.52. Suagatuck ST. PATRICK’S DAY PUB CRAWL

2 pm. Kicks off at the Ship-N-Shore Motel, where Pub Crawlers receive their official Pub Crawl t-shirts and are assembled into “competitive” teams. After a Irish toast and send off, the Pub Crawl makes five stops including: The White House Bistro, Wally’s Bar & Grill, Wicks Park Bar & Grill, The Sandbar Saloon, and the Corner Bar. Each Pub Crawl stop offers its own signature drink special, available exclusively to Pub Crawlers. The Pub Crawl wraps up at 8 pm at Coral Gables- but that’s just when the “Pub Crawl After Party” begins, featuring a live band and entertainment! Each member of the “winning” Pub Crawl team also receives a prize, which is given out at the after-party. The “Pub Crawl After Party” is also only available to official Pub Crawlers. The cost for a room ranges from $100-$120 (based on double occupancy). This rate includes two (2) official 2012 Pub Crawl t-shirts, an “Irish” gift bag in each room, and a late check-out on Sunday. Additional guests can be added to each room for $20 per person and this includes a t-shirt and gift bag for each person, as well. Rooms are based on availability, and do sell out quickly. 12.53. Irish On Ionia

Barfly Ventures today announced its second annual Irish on Ionia St. Patrick’s Day Festival. This year’s fest will expand the celebration into the streets of downtown Grand Rapids. The Saturday, March 17 signature event will close Ionia St. between Weston and Oakes streets from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., and will feature Celtic bands, Celtic dancers, DJs, bagpipers, beer tents and an Irish-inspired food pavilion.

“This year’s Irish on Ionia festival will be the largest St. Patrick’s Day celebration ever in Grand Rapids Mich., with more than 5,000 people expected to attend,” said Mark Sellers, who co-owns HopCat, Stella’s Lounge, McFadden’s Irish Saloon, The Viceroy & Grand Rapids Brewing Co., with his wife, Michele. “We have an incredible day planned with live music, contests, and of course, many kegs of green beer. Everyone should be here, because everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day.”

Irish on Ionia officially begins at 7 a.m. inside McFadden’s Irish Saloon, 58 Ionia S.W., with its annual “Kegs & Eggs” Irish breakfast. The outdoor festival opens at 10 a.m. with live bands, DJs, Irish fare and contests throughout the day. The entertainment lineup includes An Dro, Gasta, Ardan Academy of Irish Dance, A.G.T., Belfast Gin, The Waxies and The Kreelers. A complete schedule is available at

Advance “all access” tickets are $10, and VIP Irish on Ionia T-shirt and ticket bundle (limited quantities) are $20. Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17 at They will also be available starting at 4 p.m. the same day at McFadden’s, HopCat, Stella’s Lounge and The Viceroy. Admission for the event is $15 at the door. These passes provide access to McFadden’s and the outdoor festival.

McFadden’s will also host the “ShamROCK’IN” VIP party, benefitting Camp O’Malley, on the third floor from 4 to 7 p.m. Tickets, $15, include admission to the Irish on Ionia festival, Irish buffet, special drink pricing and DJ and dancing. Tickets are available beginning February 17 at McFadden’s.

“Irish on Ionia will be the place to be on St. Patrick’s Day. There will be lots of green beer flowing, plenty of authentic Irish drafts and locally-made Irish-inspired craft beers as well as some great food served with an Irish twist,” said Sellers.
