12.9. The Grand Rapids Art Museum
Time to get some culture in you and your family. The GRAM has something for everybody even if you know nothing about art, you find something that captures your intention and makes me you go hmm. Guess what this in one of the 4 museums that will be FREE 4 times this year.
The GRAM collection includes over 5,000 works of art: approximately 3,500 works on paper (prints, drawings, and photographs), 1,200 works of design and modern craft (furniture, ceramics, glass, metal and textiles), and 300 paintings and sculptures. The works on paper collection begins in the year 1500 with works by Dürer and extends to contemporary art. The design collection begins in the modern era of the late 19th century and extends to the present. The collection of painting and sculpture is primarily 19th and 20th century American and European.
