What to do for New Years Eve? Sometimes its not even your radar before Christmas but if you aren’t checking out your options now a few of things can happen:

  1. All your Friends are doing something different.
  2. Your party conflicts with other parties.
  3. The Club/Restaurant that you want to go to is sold out.

Join music fans and New Year’s revelers as we Swing into the New Year for an evening of elegant and whimsical jazz with the George Cole Quintet from San Francisco. The night is sure to be a grand way to celebrate the New Year with a cash bar, provided by the non-profit Killer Blues organization, and an afterglow party on the Playhouse stage with the band after the show. Mark it on your calendar today! The Starlight Six will be hosting a celebration concert on New Year’s Eve. People of all ages and all walks are welcomed and encouraged to come ring in 2012 with the Six’s Classy, high energy, hopeful, relentless rock and roll and Michigan soul music.
The Starlight Six is a unique and brilliant constellation of some of Michigan’s most hard working musicians. The band features the songwriting talents and vocal delights of Joshua Davis, Rachael Davis, May Erlewine and Seth Bernard. Holding it all down, Dominic Davis and Michael Shimmin make up the rhythm section, serving the people and lending their voices to the choir. In this band, there’s only one rule… no one sings alone.
The band is excited to host their New Year’s concert for the second year in Grand Rapids at the beautiful, historic Wealthy Theater. Bring your dancing shoes and prepare to use them as we enter this New Year together with wonder and well wishes, because when you wish upon a star, anything could happen!

336. Grand Rapids Griffins 15th Annual New Year’s Eve Celebration (vs. Milwaukee Admirals)
Team Poster Giveaway: The first 2,000 fans will receive a Griffins team poster, courtesy of Fox Honda.
Jersey Auction: The Griffins will wear jerseys designed by Jason Valenti of Sayre, Penn., who won the Griffins third annual jersey design contest held over the summer. Valenti’s entry was one of two winners selected from a pool of 119. All jerseys will be signed by the respective Griffins player and auctioned off following the game inside the Fifth Third Vault, with proceeds benefiting GVSU club roller hockey.
Fireworks!: Following the game, fans will be treated to West Michigan’s largest indoor fireworks display.

All proceeds will benefit Love for Lokomotiv, a foundation established to support the families of the victims of the tragic Sept. 7 plane crash in Russia that claimed the lives of 44 people, including the entire roster and coaching staff of the Kontinental Hockey League’s Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. Included among the victims were three former members of the Griffins: forward Pavol Demitra, defenseman Karel Rachunek, and goaltender Stefan Liv.
