235. West Michigan Labor Fest

What is Labor Fest? Its a party, its a fest, its a car show, its live music,etc. at Ah-Nab-Awen Park at the Gerald Ford Presidential Museum along the Grand River, in downtown Grand Rapids.
The Labor Fest Includes:

* All Day FREE Admission to Gerald Ford Presidential Museum
* Live Music FREE in the Park
– Jimmie Stagger Band, Mustang Band, Krystal Kleer, Mick Lane
* Local Food Vendors & Beer Tent
– Fred’s Pizza, Beltline Bar, Smokey Bones, Coney Girl, etc.
* Antique Car & Motorcycle Show
* Arts & Crafters
* Fun Things for Kids
* Labor Displays
* “Michigan Blood” blood drive

Labor Fest will be held at The day will include FREE admission to the Gerald Ford Presidential Museum with their special exhibit being free as well – “Benjamin Franklin: In Search of a Better Word”. Benjamin Franklin is one of  the most remarkable and influential Americans of any generation. Founding father, scientist, diplomat, humorist, philanthropist, entrepreneur, rebellious teen, etc. Learn more about the many sides of Ben Franklin and discover his impact on your world in this electrifying new exhibit. This exhibit is only being hosted at 3  sites in the Unites States and the Gerald Ford Presidential Museum is one of those three. And while you are at the Museum, if you haven’t done so already, you can visit Gerald and Betty Ford’s resting place and pay your respects.

Other activities will include an arts and craft show featuring many area locals showing their artistic talents and selling their arts and crafts.

Fun things for kids will consist of a Blow Up Bouncy House, Berry-Go-Round, Ferris Wheel, Face Painting, Penny Throwing Contest, Fire Safety House, and more.

Enjoy live musical talents Jimmie Stagger Band, Mustang Band, Krystal Kleer, and Mick Lane….while eating some food from local food vendors like Fred’s Pizza, Beltline Bar, Smokey Bones, Coney Girl and more.

There will be a vintage/classic American Made car and motorcycle show in the Ford Museum’s north side parking lot.

Labor displays will consist of an Iron Worker’s climbing column, fire truck, and many more…..

So, on Labor Day, come on down to Ah-Nab-Awen Park at the Ford Presidential Museum and enjoy a fun filled day with free live music, free admission to the Museum, arts & crafters, local food, antique cars & motorcycles, and fun things for the kids.
