193. Alcoa Celebration Square

July 14, 2011

This is one square I think the kids will find very cool. The Alcoa Celebration Square reopened today after the inital opening a few weeks ago to treat the concrete so it was not too slippery. Because the square has a fountain in the middle of so the the kids can run through the water and get cooled off. Alcoa Celebration Square offers not only the dancing water of the children’s fountain but room to roam. The wide public space is framed by huge geometric cement blocks for people to sit on. So grab your towels and your mail go have some fun.

The fountain is located in front of the Muskegon U.S. Post Office downtown, on the site of the historic Federal Square at the intersection of 1st St and W Clay Ave. For more information on the development of the Square visit: http://www.mlive.com/news/muskegon/index.ssf/2011/06/childrens_fountain_turned_on_a.html
