187. Muskegon’s Bike Time
The 5th Annual Muskegon Bike Time will rolls into town from Friday July 15, 2011 to Sunday July 17, 2011. I remember 5 short years ago people questioned if Bike Time would draw people town, would it be successful, would this be a good thing, etc. With big name entertainment acts, corporate sponsorship and large well behaved crowds the Muskegon area has really embraced Bike Time and looks forward to each year. Last years crowd estimates were approximately 100,00 people and 60,000 motorcycles over the three day event. The event has been dubbed as “America’s fastest growing bike event!”
So you have some time to get your chrome polished, get the camera ready, and put your walking shoes to simply view the bikes and show your bike off. Along a mile-long stretch of Western Avenue in downtown Muskegon will once again become a motorcycle-only “Steel Horse Alley” buzzing with people, food, vendors, beer tents, music, and the sweet sounds of bikes. Oh, don’t forget this year you can catch the Marshall Tucker Band and Brian Howe from Bad Company on the main stage.
If you need a place to stay I suggest getting your reservations in now to the local hotels. Temporary camping is available downtown.
