103. John Ball Zoo
“Hey Rocky, Take her to the zoo. I hear people like the zoo.” Well Gezzo’s diver might not have said it like that to Rocky but he should have said it that way because people do like the zoo. West Michigan is lucky to have a couple of amazing zoos in the area and Grand Rapids is the home to the John Ball Park Zoo. John Ball Zoo has over a 1,000 animals, is located in a 110-acre park. The zoo has an aquarium, children’s zoo, African area and chimpanzee exhibit. The zoo is open most of the year so whenever you have a nice day this would be the place to a nice stroll with the family.
If looking at animals isn’t your thing they also have zip line rides, camel rides, sawn paddle boats, and a aerial rope course. This is also a good spot if you are up for a good walk along the paved trails of the Grand River next to the old gypsum mines which you can walk to Millennium Park.
