84. Real Food Cafe
One of the great things about Grand Rapids it has little neighborhood areas within the city which reminds me of home in Chicago. I am partial to the Alger Heights area since I lived there for a few years and continue to own rentals in the area. So when I come work in the area I always seem to plan my meals around the neighborhood and the days activities in Alger Heights. If its an morning meal, I look no further than the Real Food Cafe.
In the years I have lived in Alger Heights, Real Food Cafe was our spot to meet friends before a trip or take visiting friends to after a night on the town the next day. The food is not good, its great, its hearty, and just very tasty!!! Since I am a creature of habit, once I find something I like on the menu I rarely stray from that item again when I visit a restaurant again. So, my go-to items at the Real Food Cafe over the years has been the omelets and pancakes. The pancakes are some of the best tasting I have ever had and they have a good selection omelets to choose from. The White Choclate Blueberry Pancakes are my favorite item!! But I have strayed to the lunch side of the menu a few times and have enjoyed each every meal.
Real Food Cafe is not huge, its a warm, cozy, friendly, restaurant on the south side of Grand Rapids. If you are near or passing by the south east side of GR swing into the Real Food Cafe you won’t be disappointed.
